From November 28th Gaeun is no longer a member of MADEINa group of K-Pop girls below 143 Entertainment. This announcement comes in the wake of disturbing allegations of sexual assault.
Earlier this month, Gaeun raised a wake-up call by suddenly deleting all of his social media posts, unfollowing his group’s agency, and unfollowing the CEO of 143 Entertainment. Fans feared that these changes could signal Gaeun’s exit from MADEIN, but 143 Entertainment initially said otherwise.
Recently, Gaeun visited the hospital due to health problems, and based on the medical advice to take sufficient rest and stability, he decided to temporarily stop activities to focus on recovering health.
As a result, MADEIN will continue its activities with six members:Mashiro, YES, MiU, Suhye, SerinaAND Nagomi– for the moment.

A week later, JTBCthe show Scandal supervisor posted an episode about a member of a fifth-generation girl group, who had been sexually assaulted after asking to leave her group. Although Gaeun’s voice was altered to protect his identity, netizens quickly paired a blurry background video of the segment with a performance by MADEIN on M! Countdown.
Gaeun said the CEO of 143 Entertainment forcibly kissed and molested her for two hours after she asked to leave MADEIN. He was a minor at the time of the alleged assault.

On November 28, 143 Entertainment tweeted a new statement to announce Gaeun’s official departure from the group. 143 Entertainment stated that Gaeun decided to retire due to “personal circumstances that made it difficult for her to continue the team’s activities”.
