G-Dragon Wins “Musical Visionary of the Year” Award: “A Meaningful Day” [2024 MAMA]

The award was presented during the “2024 MAMA AWARDS” held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan on November 23.

“Music Visionary of the Year” is a newly introduced category at this year’s MAMA AWARDS. This award is given to singers or groups who demonstrate unprecedented influence and presence in the K-pop industry.

G-Dragon’s name was announced as the recipient. Taking the stage with the trophy in hand, he greeted the audience with: “It’s been a while, Mom.“He expressed his gratitude,”Thank you so much for this significant award.”

He continued: “Both personally and as a group, today has a special meaning. It’s my first time back on stage in seven years, and it’s been 17 years since I first appeared at MAMA in 2007. On this significant day, thank you for this award to make it even more meaningful.”

G-Dragon also expressed his thanks to those who have supported him throughout his career, “There are so many people I have to thank. From Hyun-suk hyung and the YG family to my new Galaxy Corporation family, as well as my beloved members, thank you all.Finally he turned to his fans:To the yellow lights that made this triumphant return possible, thank you very much. I’m not sure if this is the kind of prize you can win more than once, but if it is, I’ll make sure not to miss it next year either.”
