According to tvN, the episode featuring G-Dragon will be filmed next Wednesday and is expected to air at the end of October. In this episode, the idol will share his journey to becoming a member of BIGBANG, his experiences as a solo artist, and his long hiatus from the music industry.
The BIGBANG leader has a close relationship with the show’s main host, Yu Jae Seok. His only previous appearance on a variety show had aired Endless challengealso hosted by Yu Jae Seok.
G-Dragon is set to release new music, marking his return nearly seven years after the release of his second EP, Kwon Ji Yongin June 2017.
Last month, the idol made a surprise appearance at another BIGBANG member Taeyang’s solo concert.
In August, G-Dragon was granted free transfer of trademark rights to the stage names “G-Dragon” and “GD” by his former management company, YG Entertainment. He plans to hold a solo concert at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul in early 2025. He is also considering debuting new songs at the 2024 MAMA Awards, which will be held in Los Angeles and Osaka on November 22-23.
In addition to his musical career, G-Dragon is a visiting lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The BIGBANG leader also launched the JusPeace charity foundation to support young artists in overcoming drug addiction. He is expected to openly discuss not only BIGBANG and his character as G-Dragon but also his personal life as Kwon Ji-yong, arousing much anticipation.
The episode “You Quiz” with G-Dragon will air in October. G-Dragon is currently preparing for his solo comeback after seven years.
