G-Dragon hit in the face by an object thrown on stage during the Osaka concert

On the night of October 20th, G-Dragon officially kicked off his Phase 4 Superman World Tour with an encore concert in Osaka, Japan. The K-pop legend wowed audiences with extravagant new stage outfits and his signature artistry. However, the excitement was ruined by a shocking incident that left fans in disbelief: G-Dragon was hit in the face by an object thrown by the audience during the show.

The accident occurred while G-Dragon was riding on a float, interacting closely with fans. A foreign object suddenly flew from the stands and hit him directly in the face. Captured by numerous fan cameras, the footage quickly spread across social media. His surprised and confused expression sparked concern among spectators, although he quickly composed himself, offered a faint smile and continued to perform professionally.

The fans reacted with indignation. Many condemned the act as not only disrespectful but also dangerously irresponsible. While throwing objects such as soft toys, letters or flowers on K-pop stages has been a common (albeit risky) gesture, throwing objects directly at artists is universally condemned.

In G-Dragon’s case, the object could have caused injury and clearly disrupted the emotional atmosphere of the night. Fans have called for stricter safety measures on upcoming stops of the tour to ensure the safety of both artists and audiences.

Despite the accident, G-Dragon delivered a heartfelt message during the concert, expressing deep gratitude and acknowledging the emotional and logistical challenges of this tour:

“This tour, which started in March, is finally nearing its end. Since it’s my first comeback in eight years, I’ve put everything into every detail not only for myself, but, more importantly, for all of you. It’s also my first time touring with a new team, and we’ve learned and grown together along the way. I know this may have led to moments that were disappointing or below expectations. So I want to use this moment to sincerely apologize if I’ve made anyone feel sad or alone. After all, I’m just a singer. The only real way I can repay your love is through my music and performances. I promise that I will continue to work hard to be a better artist, someone who will never let you down again. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for coming, for understanding, and for staying with me through this journey.

The emotional speech moved thousands of fans to tears, reaffirming G-Dragon’s deep connection with his audience.

After the Osaka show, G-Dragon will continue Phase 4 of Superman tour in Taiwan, before traveling to Hanoi, Vietnam, for concerts Nov. 8-9. In light of the Osaka incident, fans are calling for stricter safety protocols to ensure G-Dragon’s safety and allow him to focus on delivering unforgettable performances.
