Some were confused by what he meant.
Island FT‘S Hongki message up MinhwanThe prostitution scandal has earned heavy criticism.
Former LABOUM‘S Yulhee posted a bombshell video alleging her ex-husband, FT Island’s Minhwan, allegedly frequented adult entertainment venues, including brothels and karaoke parlors with service girls.
The former idol shared recorded phone calls between Minhwan and his acquaintance, who appears to be his intermediary for such services.
Minhwan has already received a huge reaction from netizens. He announced that he would stop all activities, including the program in which he appears with his children. However, it was also announced that he would continue his musical activity, which earned him criticism.
On October 25, Lee Hongki apparently shared a message on Weverse referencing the ongoing scandal.
FT Island’s Lee Hongki makes an ambiguous post about Minhwan’s prostitution scandal
In his post he states that what is wrong must be recognized, but he also states that not everything you see should be believed.
In a now-viral forum post, netizens discussed his message and were critical of the message’s ambiguity. Many criticized the belief that the message defended Minhwan in a certain sense, while others wished he spoke more directly.
- It wasn’t both; the man practiced prostitution alone. Before you tell us not to believe everything, listen to the recording first, Mr. Lee Hongki.
- Why do we have to leave room for interpretation? He literally said he would take the stones. Hahaha. Naturally, he is impressed as he embraces the salon scene in the room. Where does this victim act come from? Ridiculous.
- What exactly should we not believe? Call logs to book the property??
- I think you need to be more clear, for your own good. You can’t talk ambiguously like that. If you had to say something, say it correctly instead of leaving it half done. Hahaha.
- Hahaha. So “He was wrong to go to the institute, but he doesn’t believe everything the woman says”? It seems that way to me. It sounds like you just want to say a word because you feel wrongly accused, right? Haha.
- Ugh… Honestly, I trusted Lee Hongki, but I’m really disappointed.
- So we shouldn’t trust Yulhee? The registration has been released. Fans might try to convince themselves otherwise, but it just feels like defending a sex offender.
