On December 5, TikTok, the global short-form video platform, released its “Year on TikTok 2024″ report. Among the highlights, the “Top Artists Global” category was determined based on the number of video views on TikTok artists’ official accounts.
ENHYPEN, ranked as the second best artist globally, has achieved the highest position among Korean artists. Following them were NCT, LE SSERAFIM, Stray Kids, aespa, TXT (TOMORROW X TOGETHER) and TWICE, for a total of seven K-POP groups featured on the list. Last year, five of the top ten were K-POP artists.
Yu Kyung-chul, head of TikTok Asia Artist Partnerships, said: “TikTok has continued to impact the music industry in 2024 by innovating various aspects such as new artist discovery, music marketing, and communication between fans and artists. It has become an entertainment platform that contributes to the success of both emerging and established artists.”
Meanwhile, TikTok successfully hosted its first “TikTok Awards” in Korea on November 15, which was attended by over 250 creators and 1,500 fans.
