Former VCHA’s KG responds to JYP Entertainment’s statement following alleged abuse allegations

Former VCHA member KG has accused JYP Entertainment subsidiary JYP USA of abuse. On December 7, KG announced his departure from the group on Instagram, revealing that he had filed a lawsuit for mistreatment. It said abusive behavior by staff had led to serious consequences for other members, including suicide attempts and self-harm.

On December 8, JYP USA denied KG’s allegations, claiming that he had left the group’s residence in May 2024 and that they had tried to resolve the matter with his representatives but had received no response. They called his claims “false and exaggerated.”

In light of this incident, some industry insiders believe that KG’s personal issue should not be seen as a larger issue in K-Pop, arguing that his statements are too vague.

KG has now responded to JYP Entertainment’s statement with strong words.

He expressed deep disappointment in what he called JYP USA’s “lack of accountability.” KG stressed that the company had not taken responsibility for its actions, despite the serious allegations made. She also reassured the public that she and her legal team are fully prepared to back up her claims with concrete evidence. This includes photographic and physical evidence to back up everything he said.

KG made it clear that her fight is not only for herself, but also for her former VCHA members and all K-Pop idols and trainees who are going through similar hardships. She hopes to bring attention to the mistreatment many face in the industry and push for better treatment for everyone involved in K-Pop. His message wasn’t just about his personal experience, but also about the need to make lasting changes in the K-Pop industry to protect others.

Below is KG’s full response:

I am very disappointed in the company’s lack of accountability. My legal team and I are fully prepared with photographic and physical evidence to prove that my allegations are real, not “exaggerated” nor “false.”

Thank you to the public for your unwavering support. Please treat both parties with kindness, as this is a difficult time for everyone.

I will continue to fight for better treatment of K-pop idols and trainees, vowing to tell nothing but the truth. I hope that by coming forward, other trainees, idols and group members can be encouraged to use their voices, in order to make positive changes in the K-pop industry.
