Lim Se-ryung, born in 1977, is the eldest daughter of the Daesang family, one of South Korea’s largest food conglomerates. She has attracted public attention not only as the ex-wife of Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong, but also for her independent career, raising two children and a long-term relationship with actor Lee Jung-jae.
Lim Se-ryung studied economics at Yonsei University before earning a degree in psychology at New York University, equipping her with the skills needed to join the family business early. He subsequently held executive roles at Daesang, eventually becoming Vice President in 2021 after leading the brand’s rejuvenation and expansion into the convenience food sector.
