Former CSL goalkeeper turned actor hospitalized after co-star’s shocking accident on set

Chinese actor Wang Nian Jiang Cheng was recently rushed to hospital after an unexpected on-set accident left him bruised and shaken. The incident, which occurred during the filming of an action sequence, quickly went viral after behind-the-scenes footage showed the actor staggering, clutching his face and nearly collapsing.

According to the report, Wang Nian Jiang Cheng was unintentionally hit in the face by his co-star Liu San Si, who later issued a public apology for the incident. Liu San Si explained that the scene was intended to be a camera angle simulation rather than an actual physical shot. However, the actors stood too close together during filming, forcing Liu San Si to misjudge the strength and angle of the swing, resulting in an unexpected direct impact.

The production team responded quickly, releasing an official statement clarifying that the incident was “an accident caused by incorrect positioning, not an intentional act.” They also confirmed that staff members had been assigned to accompany Wang Nian Jiang Cheng during treatment and that the crew would cover all medical, recovery and related expenses.

Later that night, Wang Nian Jiang Cheng updated fans on social media with a photo of his swollen and bruised eye, reassuring them: “Don’t worry, I’m back at the hotel. I’ll rest well!” He revealed that the wound was approximately 1cm long and required three stitches. Filming has since been temporarily halted while the actor recovers.

Wang Nian Jiang Cheng’s management team described the incident as a “significant setback” and said they were reviewing the procedures necessary to hold responsible parties accountable for what they consider to be a preventable accident.

Young, emerging and highly regarded in the Chinese entertainment scene, Wang Nian Jiang Cheng now needs time to fully recover before returning to filming. Fans across all platforms continue to express concern, wishing him a quick and full recovery.
