Former Crayon Pop member Choa hospitalized before giving birth to twins after high-risk pregnancy

Former Crayon Pop member ChoA was hospitalized after experiencing contractions and sudden bleeding while expecting identical twins, in what doctors are treating as a high-risk pregnancy.

ChoA, whose real name is Heo Min Jin, announced on her social media on February 15 that she was hospitalized due to contractions and unexpected bleeding in the final stage of her pregnancy.

She wrote that the twins are currently stable and that both contractions and bleeding have been brought under control, but added that she will remain under observation until doctors decide whether she can be discharged.

ChoA is now in her 33rd week and due in March, according to allkpop. She previously shared that she had identical twins, who she nicknamed “Heart” and “Cute,” and that she conceived through in vitro fertilization after fertility-preservation surgery linked to a previous cancer diagnosis.

Medical staff scheduled a cesarean section for early March, which is common for twin pregnancies classified as high risk.

Doctors explained that twin pregnancies, especially after a history of cervical cancer and fertility-preserving surgeries, often require more frequent monitoring and may be classified as high risk due to increased chances of early labor, bleeding and cervix-related complications.

In ChoA’s case, doctors had warned that maintaining the pregnancy until at least 28 weeks would be an important milestone, given that her uterus had been affected by previous treatment.

Reports note that in vitro and twin pregnancies like hers are often carefully monitored for cervical shortening, amniotic fluid levels and growth differences to reduce the risk of preterm birth, Cleveland Clinic reported.

In 2022, ChoA revealed that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer during a prenatal checkup, which led to surgery and fertility preservation treatment.

After several follow-up tests and recovery, she was subsequently cleared to attempt a pregnancy and became pregnant with twins in 2025, describing the pregnancy as particularly valuable given her previous prognosis.

She also said she suffered intense morning sickness in the first trimester and rapid weight gain afterward, which are common but more pronounced in twin pregnancies.

Her husband, a businessman six years her senior whom she married in 2021, was often seen accompanying her to hospital visits and has publicly thanked medical staff for their careful handling of her high-risk case.

ChoA remained active on social media throughout her pregnancy, including sharing a full-term maternity photoshoot shortly before her hospitalization, which received many messages of support from fans. Many fans and other stars have expressed concern about her high-risk status and are sending well wishes for her and the safe delivery of the twins, as per Wow Korea.
