Online content creator I am from Korea (@iam.from.korea on TikTok) is known for his street interviews, often asking foreigners their opinions on South Korea.
In a recent video, he asked two women: “What was the biggest L you had in Korea?” Much to his and the Internet’s surprise, one responded: “When I came to Korea, I thought everyone would be like Jimin, but no one looked like Jimin.” It was even more shocking when IamfromKorea asked her what she meant by that and if she thought Korea would have “clones” of the idol, to which she replied: “YES.”

The video went viral, with 212.8K views on TikTok as of this writing. Many ARMYs could relate to the woman and agreed that Jimin is the standard for men.
The video even circulated on X (formerly Twitter), going viral with 327.2K views as of this writing. X users also agreed with the woman.

Many found the video engaging and funny. Some believe that the woman was not serious and was just joking. However, many are concerned that she was sincere in her statements.
On TikTok, the video sparked a wider debate. Whether or not netizens agreed with the woman, many said they would never admit it out loud. They thought it was too embarrassing and childish.
Netizens also wondered whether the woman sincerely believed that all Korean men looked like Jimin, and how she came to this conclusion, considering that he and the other six members of BTS look nothing alike.
