On March 3, the Women and Children Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Western District Prosecutor’s Office announced that a Brazilian woman in her thirties, identified as Awas indicted on Feb. 27 on charges of violating South Korea’s anti-stalking law and trespassing.
According to prosecutors, A is accused of visiting Jungkook’s house in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, about 20 times between December last year and January this year. He allegedly rang the doorbell repeatedly, left mail at home and even hung photographs on the railing. Some reports also stated that he engaged in intimidating behavior, including persistently pressing the doorbell multiple times.
During the prosecution’s investigation, A reportedly stated that his actions were motivated by love for Jungkook. However, authorities determined that the acts were continuous and repetitive in nature, meeting the legal criteria for stalking under Korean law.
A was initially caught red-handed and arrested for trespassing in December 2025, but was later released. Despite this, she would approach Jungkook’s residence again. The police had issued a restraining order banning her from coming within 100 meters of the property. When she violated the restriction and attempted to approach the residence once again, she was arrested and referred to prosecutors on February 19.
It was reported that a charge of attempted home invasion was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. However, the stalking and trespassing charges went forward and the suspect will be prosecuted while in custody.
