BIGBANG will reportedly perform at the 2024 MAMA Awards, and VIPs will rejoice!
On October 5, various media outlets revealed that the current members of the legendary group G-Dragon, Daesung and Taeyang will take the stage at the upcoming MAMA Awards, which will be held in November in Los Angeles and Japan.
As BIGBANG has distanced itself from the music industry as a full group, news of their potential performance at this year’s MAMA Awards sparks excitement in the K-pop community.

It will be recalled that the ceremony achieved the highest viewership rating of 4.9% in 2013, when BIGBANG was part of the program. The last time the group performed at MAMA was in 2015, when the rating also rose to 3.2%.
The following year’s ceremony, however, plummeted to 1.2%. From 2016 to 2023, MAMA failed to surpass the 2% threshold.
Now that BIGBANG is said to perform as a group at the prestigious awards ceremony, the K-pop industry anticipates not only the trio’s performance but also the increase in viewership from its long-standing stagnant phase.

Meanwhile, MNET has responded to reports about the second-generation icon’s 2024 MAMA Awards performance. According to the network, “The lineup of artists who will participate in the 2024 MAMA Awards has not yet been decided.”
