“What’s the point of keeping that management company going?”
Avid K-Pop fans know the frustration that comes with their favorite idol groups remaining dormant for so long, or being underpromoted despite potential, or even being sent with questionable agendas. The same goes for STUDIO POCKETDOL‘S Classy fans.
CLASS:y, a group made up of MBCthe audition programme My teenage girlsdebuted in May 2022. Members are signed and managed by M25a label 100% owned by POCKETDOL STUDIO.
In a viral post on theqoohowever, fans begged POCKETDOL STUDIO to do so “let go” of CLASS:ye members terminate their contracts before the current signed date of 2029. While begging for contract termination might seem counterintuitive, CLASS:y fans say being released from POCKETDOL STUDIO is the only way the members will finally be able to achieve fame.
The post pointed out that the CLASS:y group’s last promotion took place in December 2023. Even then, given that “Winter Bloom” was a digital single, CLASS:y “I actually haven’t been able to be that active.”
The post also noted that between December 2023 and today, CLASS:y members have not toured, performed, or engaged in solo activities.

As of September, POCKETDOL says CLASS:y will return in November. But all we got was a press article about it. No trailer. No promotions. Nothing. There was an article about their planned return in November, and the group’s official X account remains dead, with the last post published on September 30th. Other idol groups tease their comebacks with concept photos, trailers, highlight medleys, and all kinds of other promotional content. . But CLASS:y achieves nothing… so much so that we’re all wondering if the November return is real.
If Kim Kwang Soo is not confident in supporting the members towards success, he should let them go now. This way, members have a better chance of starting over. But we fear that the members will have to endure 7 years under Kim Kwang Soo’s management, doing absolutely nothing… There is not a single fandom that wants their idol groups to disband. But being successful as an idol is all about timing. What if members could find better management that could actually help? Now is that time.

So, mentioning other groups like BAE173 AND FANTASY GUYS from POCKETDOL STUDIO who met the same fate of being “essentially neglected” after debuting, the post stated that although CLASS:y’s has a comeback planned for November 2024, things aren’t going so well.
- “Some people watching My teenage girlfriend I questioned the management who would handle the rookie finalists… Like, the girls on that show were all amazing. But they would sign with Kim Kwang Soo if they won.”
- “F*cking Kwang Soo… None of his groups from previous audition shows survived more than 2 1/2 years. What made him decide to hire girls for 7 years?! He’s a maniac.”
- “FANTASY BOYS and BAE173 ended up participating in multiple auditions/survival shows. They also went to a Chinese one, called Starlight Boys. That means member Lee Hangyul he has been in FOUR survival programs.
- “I feel members should look into legal options. Don’t they have adults who can help them?”
- “The members of CLASS:y are so talented and beautiful, so it breaks my heart to see them on survival shows. For example, when I first heard that the group would be managed by POCKETDOL STUDIO, I felt so bad… It had to be POCKETDOL of all places. What is the purpose of keeping that management company running? Is it to keep sending idols to audition programs?
- “I can’t believe someone like Kim Kwang Soo is still running an entertainment business in Korea.”
- “Members cannot sue like this Nam Dohyun did he and left the management?”
- “I feel so sorry for this group.”
Disappointed fans continue to call for POCKETDOL STUDIO to give up the girl group, an obvious cry for management to do much more and much better for the talented members.
