On September 5, various fans of BTS’s V (real name Kim Tae-hyung) started spreading hashtags such as “HYBE TREAT TAEHYUNG THE SAME WAY” and “HYBE RESPECT TAEHYUNG” on the SNS X platform (formerly Twitter), expressing their anger.
Apparently, the fan outrage was sparked by allegations that BTS’s V fancam for the song “Pied Piper” was copyrighted and removed by none other than HYBE.
Hybe has claimed copyright for V’s Pied Piper fancam from “To MY DARLING V” and has shut down the “mumu_tae” channel for the same reason, while the other members’ fancams from the same performance are still available.
Bring back V fancams!

The fancam is known to have 17 million views, suggesting huge popularity among fans and the public alike, and the channel that originally posted it has also been shut down due to copyright issues. However, other members’ fancams for the same song and event are still active, meaning V was the only “victim” of the copyright strike.
In addition to this, other fancams of varying popularity, all of V, were also removed, further intensifying fan sentiment.
As a result, fans began accusing HYBE of “mistreatment” towards V, and related hashtags calling for equal treatment garnered over 65,000 posts.
Angry comments, like, “After all the sabotage and deleting sales, they are now resorting to deleting tae’s fancams”, “HYBE is really ruining everything”, AND “Why only Taehyung?” can be seen everywhere on the net.
