Famous singer escapes near-fatal accident after scaffolding collapses in Korea

Singer Hins Cheung has revealed he had a shocking near-death experience after a metal scaffolding collapsed and crushed his car, minutes before he was supposed to enter.

According to HK01, the incident came to light on March 30, when Hins Cheung attended a public event. After staying out of the spotlight for a while to prepare for his new album, the singer appeared noticeably fuller, surprising many fans.

During the event, Cheung recounted the terrifying moment that happened while he was in South Korea filming a music video. He explained that a metal scaffolding suddenly collapsed directly onto the car he intended to get into. Luckily he avoided the accident simply because he was a few minutes late.

Cheung said that after finishing filming, he planned to go out for a walk and asked a friend to accompany him. He was supposed to leave at 12, but due to a small delay he left later than expected. That small change in timing ultimately saved his life.

At the time the scaffolding collapsed, his friend had gotten out of the car to smoke, which meant there was no one inside when the accident occurred. Photos shared by Cheung showed the vehicle severely damaged under the weight of the fallen structure.

Reflecting on the incident, Cheung admitted that it changed his perspective on life. He said: “After this, I realized that nothing else really matters. If the work is difficult or the market is unstable it doesn’t matter. What matters most now is security and peace.”

Born in 1981 in Guangzhou, Hins Cheung began building his career in Hong Kong in 2002. Over the years, he earned recognition as one of Cantopop’s leading figures and also served as vice president of the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild.
