Many have already competed in survival shows.
One of the many ways aspiring idols can find success is by competing in a survival show. These shows usually take many trainees or even already debuted idols and have them compete for a chance to debut in a brand new group.
While survival shows have proven to be a good opportunity for some idols to gain popularity, some contestants, unfortunately, seem to end up in a cycle of appearing on similar shows for a variety of reasons.
The one recently announced League of the Universe is one such show with a line-up full of familiar faces.
Universe League is the sequel to Universe Ticket, the survival program that formed UNIS and features 42 contestants. The show has contestants form teams using a draft system as they compete against each other. In keeping with the show’s title, members will be swapped between teams like in professional sports.
One of the competitors that has already attracted attention is LIGHT‘S Steven.
Steven previously competed in Produce X 101, but was eliminated before debuting in his current group. Many fans expressed surprise at her competing on the show and feelings ranging from excitement to disappointment at having to compete on another show.
I’m actually betting on him now 🙂↕️ https://t.co/A1ksD1elIX

Man, I remember hyping him up – why yes, Australian representation on a survival show – years ago and then being very proud of his band debut… it hurts my heart that he’s back on another survival show survival https://t.co/lcQjjAiMJG

The contestant with the most reactions overall, however, is the ex TO1‘S Woongki. Woongki debuted after competing World class but he was one of three members announced to be leaving the group in 2022.
Woongki then continued to compete The planet of boysbut he was eliminated and finished in 20th place.
The idol’s fans are both saddened that he is competing in a survival show for the third time (the fourth including his appearance on Road To Kingdom with TO1), but hope that this will bring him success.
