In a video posted on January 23 on Daesung’s YouTube channel Zip Daesungtitled “A cosmic explosion and the appearance of a superpowered being… This is getting interesting,” Suho shared that he personally requested to appear on the show. During the episode he candidly confessed feelings that he had kept private for years.
“I was a fan of BIGBANG’s sunbaenim. I never said that before.” Suho admitted, revealing his long-suppressed admiration. When Daesung initially thought this might be polite speech, Suho firmly clarified, “No, it’s not that. I was a really big fan.”
EXO member Kai, who appeared alongside him, confirmed Suho’s statement while recalling their apprentice days. “I remember when we were interns. He always had their songs on his iPod. He bought the CDs himself and put them in. He had all the albums,” Kai shared.
Suho also explained why he had never openly expressed his fandom in the past. “I’m from SM after all. Back then you couldn’t really go around saying you liked BIGBANG,” he said, prompting Daesung to agree that the atmosphere of the industry at the time made such things sensitive.
Recalling his first meeting with BIGBANG, Suho said, “I don’t know if you remember, but we debuted on Inkigayo. Even then you were promoting. We went to greet you on the day of our debut and it was you who smiled the most and greeted us warmly.”
Suho went on to express his excitement for BIGBANG’s upcoming 20th anniversary activities. “I’m really looking forward to this year. Honestly, I’m even more excited for the 20th anniversary album than our comeback.” he said laughing, adding that he is considering attending Coachella in April specifically to see BIGBANG’s stage.
