K-Pop Star Kai of the boy group Exo He officially completed his mandatory military service, triggering the excitement between fans for a potential return to a complete group.
Kai, whose real name is Kim Jong-in, was discharged on Monday after working as a social worker for 21 months.
The 31 -year -old singer and dancer surprised fans when he enrolled in May 2023. During his military service, Kai underwent five weeks of basic military training and was subsequently assigned to the social service functions.
After his discharge, Kai made his first public appearance through a special live broadcast “Kai: Happily Ever After“Tuesday, allowing him to reconnect with the fans who waited for his return. The event was broadcast on Weverse.
Kai’s exit from military service means that Sehun is now the only exo member who has yet to be discharged. The idol should complete its military service in September.
Suggestions of a potential return
With Kai now discharged by the military, Exo could work on a complete group return after the Sehun service. Suho, another member of the K-Pop Act, recently mentioned the plans for Exo during the live concert in January.
“Sehun and Kai will soon be discharged by the military, and they will return! So this year, 2025, please can’t wait for Exo” he said During the event.
It is worth noting that SM Entertainment has yet to make official ads on a return. Exo returned to an entire group in 2023 with the release of their special album, Exist.
Some members, including Kai, resumed their solo activities. It is also scheduled to release a new EP in the second quarter of 2025.
The album was the first time that Exo released music with a formation of seven members. Kai and Lay were absent due to military service and solo activities in China, respectively. Having said that, Exo has not published any new music as a group of nine members since 2021.
