Ex-IZONE Hitomi Is Rumored To Re-Debut In Kim Jaejoong’s New Girl Group: Here’s Why People Think So

Ahead of the debut of Kim Jaejoong’s girl group, rumors are circulating that Honda Hitomi will be joining the lineup for THESE reasons.

On August 30, former TVXQ member Jaejoong, who launched his own entertainment agency inKODE, announced his plan to launch SAY MY NAME, the first-ever girl group to be formed under the label.

The team is scheduled to debut in October, and so far only Dohee has taken off her veil among the members. She was first introduced via a teaser video.

As the K-pop community showed more and more interest in the group, speculation about the members began to arise, when some eagle-eyed Netflix players claimed that former IZ*ONE Honda Hitomi is one of them!

While this is just a rumor, fans have reinforced this theory by pointing out that inKODE CEO Noh Hyun Tae started following the idol on Instagram in July.

At the same time, Hitomi’s account was listed as being based in Korea, adding to the claim. After parting ways with IZ*ONE, the Japanese idol returned to her home country, and has been promoting herself as an idol actress there.

Furthermore, if this speculation is true, it would explain why Hitomi left Mama&Son, her Japanese agency, in May and began to become less active on social media earlier this year.

Initially, Hitomi expressed her desire to continue her career as AKB48. However, her sudden graduation last year shocked fans, drawing attention to whether she was given a bigger opportunity to leave the popular J-pop girl group.

When this rumor spread in an online forum, Hitomi received positive and encouraging messages, cheering her on for her next venture.

During her time in IZ*ONE, Hitomi was well-loved for her cute image and her singing and dancing skills.

Therefore, even after three years since their disbandment in 2021, people are still waiting for their return to the K-pop scene.

Here are some comments:

  • “If she’s not posting updates on Instagram, she was probably preparing for something.”
  • “Wow? Looking at the member who was just revealed, it seems like they’re going for a cute and adorable vibe, but the image itself suits them.”
  • “I was rooting for her because I liked the way she sang and danced diligently and also because she worked hard on her Korean! Since she is good at Korean, I think she will do well in her promotions as well.”
  • “Hitomi is a hard worker and is really sincere and kind to her fans. I remember everyone was shocked when she got her Korean driver’s license.”
  • “Hitomi, fight!”
