The holiday season means thanksgiving, new projects, New Year’s resolutions, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie can’t wait to share her latest project – her debut solo album – with fans.
In a festive message on her official website, the singer offered fans a seasonal greeting via a photo of a handwritten card and an album update.
“Dear… Thank you for making this year so special. As this year comes to an end, I want to take a moment to tell you that I am so grateful for your unconditional love, support and encouragement. You have been the reason for so many unforgettable memories and I will cherish every little moment we spent together this year,” she wrote.
“My album is finally arriving and I can’t wait to share it with you guys soon. Here’s to more exciting moments, growth and love in the coming year. Wishing you a beautiful holiday season with all my love.”
While the singer has yet to announce the title of the highly anticipated album, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar she spoke about the music she’s working on.
Just like bandmate ROSÉ, who released her debut album Rosie on Dec. 6, Jennie promised fans a look at a different side of her and evidence of personal growth “to understand and stick with” [up] for who you are.”
“You should be yourself. It might not seem as glamorous as what you were,” she told Bazaar. “Blackpink Jennie will always be a part of me, but you also get to experience this new side.”
The singer reassured fans that it will be nothing as well different from what they are used to.
“I don’t want to lose their trust,” he explained. “It’s so important to me that my culture and everyone around the world loves me.”
The album will be released via OA, which stands for ODD ATELIER, the music label launched by Jennie in November 2023 since she split from YG Entertainment for individual pursuits.
While Jennie neither confirmed nor denied famed K-pop producer Teddy Park’s involvement, the idol hinted that fans might see him play a hand, music or otherwise.
“If there’s anyone in the world I ask for musical advice, it would be Teddy,” he said.
Jennie, however, confirmed that the album will feature multiple genres and will be recorded primarily in English.
