On January 7, the teaser for next week’s talk show episode “Salon Drip 2” was revealed, showing that the next guest would be Korean eSports legend Faker (real name Lee Sang-hyeok).
Despite being awkward at first due to his rare appearance on a variety show, Faker quickly turned the tables by asking Jang Do-yeon cutting questions such as: “What makes ‘Salon Drip 2’ unique?” earning applause from the production team.
In the teaser, when Jang Do-yeon asked Faker if he would let soccer star Son Heung-min win in a “League of Legends” match, Faker responded confidently“I would never let him win,” showing his competitive spirit.
However, when asked if he would deliberately lose to his girlfriend, Faker sweetly said, “I would let her win,” eliciting laughter.
Jang Do-yeon also asked about her total earnings from the prize money, to which Faker responded, “I’ve never calculated it, so I don’t know.”
When asked about rumors that her house has a sauna and whether she might visit it, Faker playfully sipped her drink in silence, giving a firm but humorous rebuff.
On the other hand, Faker, born in 1996, is a professional “League of Legends” player and member of the T1 eSports team. He is widely considered the best “League of Legends” player in the world.
Last year, Faker won a gold medal in the “League of Legends” eSports category at the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games. Recently, he also led T1 to win the “League of Legends World Championship” and was named “Player of the Year” by the Korean league for the game.
While Faker’s official salary has never been disclosed, estimates suggest he earns between 5 and 7 billion KRW (around $3.4-4.8 million) per year, with some speculating that he could exceed 10 billion KRW (about 6.8 billion USD), attracting considerable attention.
