During a recent live broadcast of Weverse, the leader of ENHYPEN Jungwon took time on his day off to connect with fans through music and heartfelt conversation. But in that carefree moment, he faced a growing problem: the presence of sasaeng fans outside his company’s building.
In a firm tone, Jungwon he made an emotional appeal:
“Don’t wait in front of the company building. Seriously, don’t wait. If you do, you’re not an ENGENE. I’m serious.”
He went on to express how the sasaengs’ repeated appearances have made things uncomfortable for company staff and other fans:
“You guys are always out there every time I do a live broadcast. It’s such a hassle for the employees… other fans don’t come because they do it out of respect for us.”
The fandom’s reaction was swift and angry. Many ENGENE have taken to social media to criticize those invading the group’s privacy:
- “Can these stupid sons of bitches stop worrying Jungwon!?”
- “To all the idiots that show up in the building, live your life!”
- “I’m genuinely curious, don’t these crazy people have a life? I feel so sorry for them.”
The incident has reignited a larger discussion about idol privacy and the toxic behavior of some so-called fans who ignore boundaries in search of attention.
In the meantime, Jungwon he’s not the only member to speak out. Fellow member Jay also expressed frustration with the sasaengs’ behavior during a previous live broadcast, noting that this issue is neither isolated nor new.
