Recently, ENHYPEN’s Jungwon and aespa’s Winter were involved in dating rumors, with allegations that they went to a bar together.
Shortly after these rumors surfaced, the two agencies – Belift Lab and SM Entertainment, quickly dismissed the rumors as “completely baseless” and even threatened legal action. Additionally, SM revealed that the individual who distributed the photos attempted to contact a news outlet with the intent of financial gain.
However, just a day passed when new alleged “evidence” of Jungwon and Winter’s relationship surfaced, as listed in a viral post on Chinese platform SNS Douban.
Notably, sasaengs who had Jungwon and Winter’s numbers said that the two’s display names match, with Winter using the Korean character “ㅇ” and Jungwon using “d,” two letters with the same position on the keyboard.
Additionally, Jungwon was accused of texting Winter during a Prada event via the Messenger chat app to avoid being recognized via KakaoTalk’s yellow messaging bubble. They also entered the stars’ alleged number and found that both had registered Messenger accounts, claiming it was proof.
According to sasaengs, Jungwon also has a private Instagram account, which follows both Winter’s Instagram and a meme page that Winter follows.
Eventually, they released footage and accused Jungwon of leaving his dormitory on October 25, 2024 to call a taxi. The sasaengs would then follow the taxi and see Jungwon getting out of an apartment or hotel parking lot near SM Entertainment, fueling rumors of dating Winter.
On top of that, on the same day Douban’s post was published, footage purportedly of Jungwon smoking on the street appeared, sparking criticism.
Considering that Jungwon has been constantly attacked by rumors and even his groupmate, Jay, has fallen victim to dating accusations, many suspect that ENHYPEN is the subject of constant malicious attacks for foul play.
