On October 2, Elle Uk published a solo photo of Rosé on social media, subtitled: “The most extraordinary aspect came out of kind concession of the Blackpink Rosé star. “
Rosé also updated his SNS the same day, sharing the photos of the Saint Laurent 2026 s/s women’s collection show in Paris. He thanked the creative director Anthony Vaccarello, writing: “Thanks for inviting me to such an extraordinary show. Your job is really beautiful. I love you.”
Despite Elle Uk’s post, fans anger has not calmed down. Flooded comments, saying: “It’s too late” “At least issue formal apologies”, AND “This is racism.”
The controversy started when Elle Uk loaded a photo with Charli XCX, Hailey Bieber and Zoë Kravitz, but he cut Rosé. In addition, Charli XCX shared an image in which Rosé was visibly obscured in the shade and Hailey Bieber subsequently republished the same photo on the Instagram stories. Fans of Korea, Asia and Globe criticized these posts as discriminatory. Comments in multiple languages called the actions like “Racist behavior”.
Charli Xcx was also focused after Vogue Japan published a video that showed her to remove her from Rosé to converse with others, further fueling the perceptions of the exclusion.
Rosé, who participated in the event as a global ambassador of Saint Laurent, sat in the front row together with international celebrities. Instead of celebrating his presence, however, accidents aroused an ongoing debate on racial prejudice in the western media and on the coverage of fashion.
