143 Entertainment she denied the sexual assault allegations involving her CEO and member of MADEIN.
Was a MADEIN member sexually assaulted by his company’s CEO?
ON November 22JTBC’s investigative program “Crime Boss” aired a report detailing allegations of sexual assault by an agency CEO against a rookie member of the girl group. Although the program refrained from naming the group or agency, viewers took notice the inclusion of blurry footage of one of MADEIN’s musical shows—also, the group’s description was in line with MADEIN, which debuted last September below 143 Entertainment.
After the broadcast, speculation quickly spread online, further fueled by 143 Entertainment recent announcement that member MADEIN Gaeun would take a temporary break for health reasons. This has led many to wonder if Gaeun was the person referred to in the report.
The Agency’s response
In response, 143 Entertainment released an official statement via MADEIN’s social media accounts, firmly denying the allegations and addressing the swirling rumors. The agency said: “The allegations in the report are completely unfounded and the CEO did not commit any misconduct towards MADEIN members.” They added that legal action will be taken against the spread of false information that could damage the reputation of the company and MADEIN.
“First, there was no sexual harassment or other sexual contact resulting from abuse of power between the CEO and the member mentioned in the broadcast, and we let you know that the report is not true,” the statement read. “We also wish to inform you that regarding the hotel-related content involving the member in question, other acquaintances of his were also all present at the same time.”
“The reported content [on the program] was based on false statements made by other people, not by the member in question,” he added. “We clearly inform you once again that these claims are unfounded.”
The controversy has prompted fans and the public to seek clarity, with many expressing concern for the well-being of MADEIN members.
