The problem is much bigger than many people think.
Recently, in the midst of the TelegramAs K-Pop-based sex crimes gain international attention in Korea, K-Pop fans have brought to light the fact that numerous female idols have been victims of deepfake pornography.
According to a Security Hero report shared by Wall Street JournalSouth Korea is the country most vulnerable to deepfake sex crimes. The report found that out of nearly 96,000 videos from ten deepfake porn sites and 85 deepfake channels on video-sharing platforms analyzed over two months, 53 percent of individuals appearing in deepfake pornography were Korean singers and actors.
Fans have reported one of these sites, demanding that the various idol agencies take action.
Regardless of what group we belong to, we should all unite against this. Today it’s their turn, tomorrow it’s someone else’s. 4/7 babymonster is a minor fact, enough to explain the intensity of the situation.
For now let’s keep the fanwar part close to our hearts and protect our female idols!! photo.twitter.com/NafBODGG5I— hustleee_ ᱬ (@hustle_eee) August 29, 2024

Fortunately, several companies have spoken out on the issue, promising strong legal action. JYP Entertainment was among the first, followed by ATRP, YG Entertainment, FCENM (Italian)AND CASAMODEA.
So far 4 K-Pop agencies have promised strong actions against Deepfake Idol porn sites
Following these reports, the site targeted by netizens responded with the promised action.
The crudely named site “idolfap.com” appears to have disappeared, and when attempting to access it from a Google search, a 404 message appears. A similarly named site, “idolfake.org,” also displays a similar message.
And while this is certainly a big deal as one of the first sites to appear in Google searches, it has only highlighted the depth of the problem. In addition to netizens sharing that the site may reappear at a different time or under a different URL…
this is good but it is very likely that they will reopen with a different URL. Keep putting pressure on companies, no company is too shy to step up to protect their employees https://t.co/O5BsIqYdSM

websites like these are never “down” forever, they’re just somewhere else https://t.co/Uf26P21b62

…this also made many people aware of how prolific the problem is. When accessing the site using URLs alone, a list appears offering suggestions for other websites with similar content, instead of the error message.
Internet users have reported the existence of many other websites, some of which also contain deepfake content of male idols.
This is a deep fake, right?
By the way, this site has a lot of Namdol and Yodol, so I might have seen Japanese idols and actresses too.
Do I need to provide this information to the office? https://t.co/BfpDps026J photo.twitter.com/ejYYhgF70E— _____ (@_a1x23_) August 30, 2024
