The members of DE:VA, a girl group formed by NA Entertainment and set to debut in the second half of 2025, found themselves in trouble after fans garnered racist comments.
NA Entertainment, formerly LPA Entertainment before a rebrand, found itself embroiled in a scandal in 2022 when evidence emerged of the company’s CEO asking trainees to send photos of themselves in underwear.
Two members of DE:VA, Mei and Kia, are now under scrutiny for their digital footprint as fans investigate Mei’s past racist comments and questionable Pinterest boards created by Kia.
Following the allegations, Kia released an apology statement, pleading with fans to forgive its past mistakes.
“I know that what I did is not forgivable, I was a little girl, a child, who didn’t think about her actions and the consequences, I didn’t know much about K-pop. Seeing people’s reactions I also immediately understood that some of my actions may offend people,” he wrote.
“I apologize from the bottom of my heart, I have learned from my mistakes and I have also grown.”
On December 22, DE:VA announced via an Instagram story that it had left NA Entertainment and was looking for a new agency, aiming to debut in the second half of 2025.
DE:VA revealed that Alice and Nina had left, leaving five members Kia, Mei, Natasha, Karine and Sylvia.
