Reportedly on February 6, Young K recently began filming for the program and made a surprise appearance during the recording session early that morning. His first episode as a regular cast member will air on February 28.
Fantastic Saturday features cast members competing in a lyric dictation game to win popular dishes from markets across South Korea. Over the past eight years, the show has gained widespread popularity by combining hit songs, celebrity appearances and regional cuisine. The program celebrated its 400th episode in January, reflecting its long-standing success and strong viewer support.
Young K joins an established lineup that includes comedian Shin Dong-yup, Moon Se-yoon, broadcaster Boom and many other regular cast members. Fans are especially excited to see the chemistry he will build with the existing cast. Known among fans by nicknames such as big eater cat AND food-loving foxYoung K is also expected to demonstrate his hot appetite on the show.
Young K debuted in 2015 as the lead singer and bassist of DAY6, a band under JYP Entertainment. He is widely recognized as a talented songwriter, having written and composed many of the group’s signature hits, including You Were Beautiful, Time of Our Life, Welcome to the Show and HAPPY. It currently holds 218 copyrighted songs and became a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association in 2026.
This marks the first time Young K has appeared as a regular cast member on a long-running primetime variety show. Previously, he worked as a judge at Mnet’s VS in 2023 and JTBC Girls on fire in 2024. He also appeared on ENA’s variety program Our village dung puppy in March last year. Additionally, Young K continues to engage fans through his personal YouTube channel, where he showcases his diverse charm and creativity.
