DAY6’s popularity in South Korea continues and they became the first K-pop band in the past decade to score a Perfect All-Kill (PAK) with their song “HAPPY”.
On September 30, K-pop band DAY6 solidified its status in the national music scene by taking first place on all major local charts including iChart, MelOn, Genie, Bugs, YouTube Music, Flo and Vibe.
Securing the top spot in these charts is a huge indicator of popularity among Koreans as so far only major K-pop idols and artists in the music scene have been able to have a PAK in 2024, including IU, BIBI, (G) I -DLE, ILLIT, aespa, etc.

Among Korean rock groups, DAY6 raised the bar by being the first to achieve this record in 11 years since Busker Busker in 2013. The two groups were the only groups to earn PAK in history.
Meanwhile, the song that helped them get a PAK is its b-sidetrack, “HAPPY” from their album, “FOUREVER” released in March this year.
After its popularity turnaround over the summer with “You Were Beautiful” and “Time of Our Life,” the song “HAPPY” also belatedly went viral, leading to the new record.

The fact that DAY6 did this after six months of its release and military hiatus is also earning applause from music fans, as it is rare for a team, and especially a band, to receive such love after being on a hiatus for a long time.
Meanwhile, “HAPPY,” which jumped to No. 1, scored its first music win on the Sept. 29 episode of SBS’ “Inkigayo,” winning against another DAY6 track, “Welcome to the Show,” the title track of the same album.
To maintain their momentum, the quartet released their 2nd mini-album, “Band Aid,” which is also receiving attention.
