On September 14, 2024 (KST), the band DAY 6 took home first place MBC‘S Show! Core Music with their latest release, “Melt Down”.
While all victories are special, this particular victory is more significant for DAY6 fans and K-Pop fans alike, as it breaks a record that was thought to be “unbreakable.”
In addition to DAY6’s first-ever win on a music show by one of the three major public and terrestrial broadcast channels (MBC, SBS, KBS)…
…the band now holds the record for “an idol group whose first win on a music show on a public broadcast channel was the one that took the longest after their debut.”
Before DAY 6, IT IS NOT held the record for winning first place on The KBS‘S Music bank with “BET BET” on May 10, 2019, approximately seven years, one month and four weeks (2,613 days exactly) after their debut on March 15, 2012.
DAY 6 Show! Core Music The victory comes nine years, one week, and three days (3,295 days exactly) after their debut on September 7, 2015. DAY6 and K-Pop fans, who did not expect NU’EST’s record to be broken, heartily congratulated the band!

We heard that we won first place Show! Core Music and we wanted to show our gratitude with this video. This is our first time winning a music show on a public channel and, I don’t know, we’re all very grateful for it. We were hosting our fansign event when we first heard the news.
