D-Nation Entertainment, the current agency representing Park Bom, released a clarifying statement on October 23 to address the 2NE1 member’s allegations against YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk.
According to the statement, all financial arrangements linked to Park Bom’s 2NE1 activities have already been completed, contradicting claims that she was owed significant compensation.
Controversy erupted after Park Bom shared an image on his Instagram account that resembled an official complaint document. The post alleged that Yang Hyun-suk was involved in fraud and embezzlement by failing to pay her legitimate earnings from various professional activities. He specifically alleged that he had not received adequate compensation for music releases, concerts, broadcasts, advertising, events and work related to songwriting and composition. The figure mentioned in the document, about 64,272 trillion won, or about $4.5 billion, has attracted widespread attention as it far exceeds South Korea’s entire gross domestic product.
D-Nation clarified in its official statement that the complaint document uploaded on social media was never actually filed with the authorities. The agency stressed that agreements for Park Bom’s work with 2NE1 had been finalized before these allegations. The agency said: “All arrangements relating to Park Bom’s 2NE1 activities have already been completed and there is no record that the complaint uploaded on social media was ever filed.”
The statement also confirmed that Park Bom has suspended all professional activities from August, focusing instead on receiving medical care and recovery. D-Nation has indicated that the agency is committed to supporting his health and well-being during this time.
Park Bom subsequently deleted his initial Instagram post but reposted it a few hours later with an additional caption stating: “Park Bom hates YG. Dear beloved citizens who use the Internet, please carefully examine what YG did to Park Bom. Thank you.” He also shared a separate post starring his dog, further confusing observers about his intentions and mental state
YG Entertainment has not released a official statement regarding the allegations, leaving the matter to be fully addressed through Park Bom’s agency’s response. The incident has raised questions about Park Bom’s well-being, particularly given his previous withdrawal from 2NE1 reunion activities. In his post he exposed his personal phone number, prompting fans to express concern about his online condition.
