Crayon Pop’s Way Exposes HyunA’s 10kg Weight Loss: “Yo-Yo Dieting Will Come Back”

On November 5, Way posted a video titled “Why K-Pop Diets Fail + How to Succeed” on his personal YouTube channel, in which he discussed the pitfalls of extreme diets, referring to several idols by name.

The way started by commenting WJSNDayoung, praising his newly sculpted abs but noting his concern: “She lost 25 pounds in a short time, but it looks like she did it by starving herself. I saw her trying to do squats on fitness YouTuber Shim Euddeum’s channel and she could barely move. This kind of weight loss will definitely lead to her going on a yo-yo diet.”

He then turned his attention to HyunA, who recently posted a weight update on social media. Last month, HyunA declared her commitment to dieting with a caption that read: “HyunA, get it together. You loved being super skinny. Let’s do it again.” On November 4, he revealed that he had lost 10kg in a month, weighing 49kg.

Way expressed concern about HyunA’s message: “I noticed that she had gained weight recently, and it was heartbreaking to see her guilt in that post. She also used words like ‘fuck it,’ which hints at a reward-punishment cycle. Starving again will only bring the weight back in a few months or a year. And as you get older, starving doesn’t even work anymore.”

Way highlighted his journey towards sustainable health: “I got rid of hunger and now live as a ‘maintenance worker’. My stomach has shrunk, so I feel full quickly. I eat well, have more energy, and can work and exercise better. Being mentally healthy also leads to working better. It’s a positive cycle.”

Her candid remarks reignited conversations about the dangers of an unhealthy eating culture in K-pop and the ongoing pressure idols face to meet unrealistic body standards.
