Controversial updates from idol-turned-farmer on poor harvest: ‘All the grains were rotten’

Three months after becoming a farmer, THIS famous K-pop idol has revealed his poor harvest.

Kim Hyun Joong

Kim Hyun Joong made waves in Asia as an idol actor after his notable works, “Boys Over Flowers” and “Playful Kiss”. At the time, his popularity was comparable to that of Lee Min Ho and Jang Geun Seuk.

However, he lost his place in the spotlight in 2014 after he was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, who claimed that he had suffered a miscarriage and an abortion due to his misdeeds.

They had a son in the middle of the case, but Hyun Joong denied that he was his and refused to pay child support for 8 years. A DNA test later proved that the child was his biological son.

Kim attempted to revive his career, but in 2017 he completely lost the trust of fans after being involved in a drunk driving case.

In May of this year, actor Kim Hyun Joong, former member of SS501, shocked the public by announcing that he would be taking a new path in a rural area as a farmer.

Although it is a respectable job, netizens made fun of him because they didn’t expect the original “Hallyu Wave Prince” to be doing manual labor when he was larger than life.

When she planted her crops three months ago, Kim showed great hopes. On August 28, she posted a new vlog on her YouTube channel, updating her on how her farming life is going.

In the video, Kim Hyun Joong looked embarrassed by the jungle-like entrance, full of weeds, and said:

“Isn’t the land so ugly? The entrance to my land is gone.”

After checking the crop, the idol actor panicked and said:

“The corn is almost dead. This is inedible. It’s mini corn. What should I do?”

Fortunately, the tomatoes he had planted grew and, seeing them, gave him a glimmer of hope, so much so that he stated:

“I guess I was made to grow tomatoes. What am I supposed to do when all the corn is dead?”

The village chief comforted the novice farmer and explained:

“It’s not dead, it’s because you missed the harvest season. If you plant corn during the heavy season, there will be fewer weeds.”

He found a patch of good corn and decided to harvest it first, but was surprised when he saw that the corn was rotten inside, eaten or bitten by insects.

Furthermore, much of it failed to grow to its full size, leaving Kim in the situation of simply having to throw it away.

Finally, as he finished his first harvest as a farmer, he lamented, saying:

“Why did they grow like this? It’s a bit empty.”
