Company D was rumored to be in the process of hiring former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. However, Min Hee-jin clarified that she has not met with any investors, including Company D.
According to Woman Economy on November 13, five people, including Lee, were reportedly registered as internal director candidates of company D. Company D had planned to submit a motion at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders this month to register these five candidates, including Lee, but the decision was unexpectedly withdrawn.
The media reported: “Among the candidates previously announced by Company D was Company President H Lee, a graduate of Hanyang University. In the entertainment industry, Lee was said to be Hyein’s (real name Lee Hyein) uncle. Another candidate, Park, was known to be an event planner for NewJeans in Japan.”
This information can be verified in Company D’s public filing at the Financial Supervision Service’s Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System. According to the document, Company D withdrew all five previous internal management candidates and replaced them with seven new candidates.
Company D documents list Lee as a graduate of Hanyang University and president of Company H, which is in line with the Woman Economy report. Lee and Park had first appeared on the list of internal director candidates in a document submitted on October 2. Lee’s nomination was due to be considered at the extraordinary general meeting on November 8, but the meeting was postponed twice, to November 20 and 26.
Coincidentally, the timing of Company D’s complete replacement of internal management candidates coincided with the period when Min Hee-jin denied the investment rumors.
On November 5, Min Hee-jin released an official statement denying rumors that she had agreed to invest or enter into contracts with anyone, calling the rumors “baseless.” He firmly rejected speculation about his exit from ADOR and joining a new company.
Two days after Min Hee-jin’s statement, Company D announced that it would replace all internal management candidates, including Lee. Currently, Company D and Min Hee-jin’s faction have not clarified their relationship with Lee, who is known to be Hyein’s uncle.
On November 13, NewJeans sent a certified letter to ADOR demanding Min Hee-jin’s return, stating that if their request was not met, they would terminate their exclusive contract.
The letter would also make it clear that the unfounded rumors were not true.
NewJeans further stated in the certified letter: “There are currently unfounded rumors circulating about the families and relatives of NewJeans members, but NewJeans has no connection to these rumors.”
