Chinese actress Kitty Zhang, often nicknamed “Chinese Song Hye Kyo”, is facing heavy criticism after losing her temper and verbally attacking viewers during a live stream.
The actress, known for her luxurious lifestyle and bold personality, has previously made controversial statements such as “699 yuan (about 100 dollars) can’t even buy a pair of socks” and “diamonds under one carat are worth nothing.” Recently, however, she surprised the public by hosting a live stream where she sold affordable cosmetics.
The situation worsened when, after promoting the products and encouraging purchases, there were few buyers. Visibly irritated, Kitty Zhang reacted forcefully. When some anti-fans joked about abusing the return policy to cancel orders, he lost control, used foul language, and directly scolded more than 10,000 viewers watching the stream.
Without stopping there, he also shocked the brand he was collaborating with by abruptly ending the livestream despite the staff’s attempts to calm the situation, declaring: “Go buy expensive things elsewhere. I’m not selling anymore.”
His actions quickly sparked widespread backlash. Ge Xiaoqian, known as her romantic rival, also joined the discussion and criticized her, pointing out that she earns money from fans’ support but shows them no respect.

According to Chinese outlet 163, Kitty Zhang had previously built an image of an “outspoken and bold woman,” but that same personality is now backfiring. She is increasingly branded as rude, short-tempered and lacking emotional intelligence, with her reputation worsening further due to past scandals.

The actress once earned huge income through live streaming sales, earning between 50 and 80 million yuan a year. However, data from March this year shows a sharp decline in sales, which may continue to decline following this latest controversy.
Kitty Zhang first rose to fame through Stephen Chow’s films, gaining popularity for her beauty, striking figure, and outspoken personality. Coming from a difficult background, she has built a successful career and become one of the richest figures in Chinese entertainment.

Her personal life was also full of controversy, including two high-profile divorces from director Wang Quan’an and businessman Yuan Bayuan. Earlier this year, she faced serious allegations of being involved in an affair, threatening a legal wife and participating in surrogacy actions that reportedly violate Chinese law.
These ongoing controversies have severely damaged his public image. She has reportedly been dropped by brands, removed from major TV appearances and excluded from high-profile events such as the Lunar New Year Gala.
After a period of silence, Kitty Zhang attempted a comeback with livestream sales in early March, but the results were disappointing. His recent outburst towards viewers has only intensified the public reaction, further fueling calls for a boycott.
