Chef Kim Do-yoon of “Mashimaro” reveals the reason behind his choice in the culinary class wars

Chef Kim Do-yoon, known as “Mashimaro Chef,” revealed why he wore headphones on Netflix’s culinary survival show Culinary class wars. He shared his experience on the Channel A variety show Dad is a flower dadaired on October 10th.

In the show, Chef Kim was seen cooking with headphones on during Culinary class wars. He explained, “I wore headphones to infuse love into my food and to focus more on cooking. I listened to songs by Jia and Yangpa. He added, “The filming location was noisy, which triggered my anxiety. I put on the headset to calm myself down.”

When Kim Gu-ra commented, “I was disappointed that you were eliminated early from Black & White Chef,” Chef Kim joked, “I entered because my girlfriend told me to. She didn’t say anything about taking home the prize money .”

Chef Kim also added humor by mentioning that he resembles the eccentric rabbit character Mashimaro and the smile in singer Lee Hyori’s eyes. He revealed that he hails from the elite Gangnam school district, but faced opposition from his parents in becoming a chef.

Although Kim Do-yoon is a Michelin star-owning chef, he was eliminated in the second round Culinary class wars.

Culinary class wars is a culinary competition in which lesser-known talented chefs (the “black spoon” chefs) compete against the best star chefs in South Korea (the “white spoon” chefs). Kim Do-yoon participated as one of 20 white spoon chefs, but lost in a battle against a side dish chef. The program concluded with the twelfth episode, released on October 8.

Meanwhile, Channel A Dad is a flower dad is a program that captures the daily parenting lives of middle-aged dads, airing every Thursday at 9.30pm.
