A production press conference for the upcoming MBC Friday-Saturday drama will be held on April 6 Perfect crown was held at Josun Palace Gangnam in Seoul’s Yeoksam-dong.
The event was attended by cast members including IU, Byeon Woo Seok, Noh Sang Hyun, Gong Seung Yeon, Yoo Su Bin, Lee Yeon, along with director Park Joon Hwa.
Perfect crown is set in a fictional constitutional monarchy in modern-day Korea. It tells the story of a wealthy chaebol woman who has everything but is frustrated by her status as a commoner, and a royal prince who has nothing despite being the king’s son. The drama explores romance, class struggles and destiny.
Playing the role of Prince Ian, Byeon Woo Seok described his character as “a beloved royal figure who need neither raise his voice nor stand out, as he is the second son of the royal family.”
He added, “When I read the script, I always think about whether I can vividly imagine the character and the scenes. In this case, the images came very naturally and I connected strongly with Prince Ian’s narrative.”
The project has attracted particular attention as it marks Byeon Woo Seok’s first drama in two years, following the huge popularity of Lovely runner in 2024.
When asked about the pressure of returning after such success, he replied: “I’m grateful for all the love and attention. Rather than feeling pressured, I hope people continue to support me even more.”
He continued, “As much as I get love and interest, I want to continue to improve and do my best. I really enjoy the attention.”
As for viewer ratings, he said, “If I give my best, I think I should humbly accept the results. Of course, I would be very grateful if the ratings were good, so I ask for your interest and support.”
MBC Perfect crown will premiere April 10 at 9:40 p.m.
