Subway advertising Lovely runner actors Hi Woo Seok AND Kim Hye Yoon has been suspended.
Giftthe company that published the advert said: “According to the transport company’s internal policy, if even one complaint is made, the advert must be removed.”
To this, the Seoul Metro declared, “We have no involvement in this advertisement.”
More recently, Giftree posted an explanation of why the ads were removed.
“We would like to inform you of the situation regarding the advertising suspension of Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon, who won first place in the November season poll.
After the ad ran, we received over 40 complaints asking why the two appeared together. According to the transport company, if even a single complaint is received, it must be suspended, so it was quickly removed.
We tried to resume the advert, but were unable to do so due to constant complaints. Even after asking the person who designed the ad to review the design and submit it for review, the ad was rejected for the same reason.
The transportation company even suggested replacing it with a drawing showing Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon separately, but it was rejected due to constant complaints.
If these complaints continue, not only will actors have problems advertising through us, but also all Metro advertising, so we ask fans to be understanding and stop submitting complaints.”
Korean netizens couldn’t understand why people were sending complaints.
