BTS’s Suga family revealed they own an $11.8 million building and restaurant in Hannam-Dong

BTS member Suga’s family has been confirmed to own a luxury building worth around ₩17.3 billion KRW (around $11.8 million) in Seoul’s upscale Hannam-Dong neighborhood.

According to court documents, the property was purchased by Nageum Co., Ltd. in December 2022. Hanna Geum, Suga’s mother, is the company’s CEO. The building was reportedly purchased for ₩10.8 billion KRW (approximately $7.37 million USD), for FN News.

After the purchase, the building was demolished and the company developed plans for a new building in its place. Construction began in 2023 and concluded this year. The new building now has six levels above ground and two underground levels.

On the first floor, Suga’s older brother Min Geum-jae opened a restaurant called “Chompi”, which launched in November, according to Sportkeeda. The menu specializes in poke bowls, sandwiches and coffee.

Located near Hannam District 3, where major redevelopment work is underway, the property’s strategic positioning suggests forward-thinking investment planning. Industry analysts believe Suga’s family made a calculated move aimed at capitalizing on the expected appreciation and revitalization of Hannam’s District 3 redevelopment project, a common trend among wealthy Seoul residents seeking long-term property value increases.

The Hannam-Dong area, often referred to as the “Beverly Hills” of Seoul, remains home to numerous K-pop idols and entertainment industry figures, including members of BIGBANG and other established celebrities.

The revelation comes months after Suga completed his mandatory military service, having been discharged in June this year. The idol, who enlisted in September 2023 as a social service officer, became the last of BTS’ seven members to fulfill South Korea’s mandatory military obligations.

Days after his resignation, Suga made headlines after donating more than $3 million to Seoul’s Severance Hospital to create the Min Yoon-gi Treatment Center, a specialized facility dedicated to treating children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders. The donation represented the largest contribution ever made by a Korean celebrity to the hospital.

Currently, Suga and his team are busily preparing for a potential comeback in the spring of 2026.
