In a rare moment of sincere vulnerability, BTS leader RM (Kim Namjoon) openly addressed concerns and frustrations regarding HYBE, the group’s agency, during a Live broadcast of the Weverse group on December 21st.
The live stream, which featured all seven members following their military discharge, was largely celebratory. Members shared visions of hope for 2026, exclaiming: “Let’s make 2026 the year of BTS,” and tease that something “big” was on the horizon. However, RM’s unexpected remarks changed the tone.
“I don’t usually say things like that.” RM began cautiously, “but I hope the company embraces us more.” The sentiment resonated deeply with fans, highlighting an apparent emotional distance between global superstars and their label. His words, while measured, hinted at larger internal struggles, likely related to BTS’ hiatus and delayed comeback plans.
This isn’t the first time RM has spoken openly about BTS’s uncertain timeline. In previous communications he had clarified that the group did not “wasting the second half of 2025”, but that certain decisions were beyond their control. “We didn’t want to let him go either.” he said, suggesting structural or strategic reasons behind the absence of group promotions.

RM admitted that it further escalated his concern “I thought if it would be better to stop the team” numerous times. However, he stressed that it was the members’ love for each other and ARMY’s unwavering support that kept them going.
Adding to the current maelstrom surrounding BTS, youngest member Jungkook is currently involved in dating rumors with aespa’s Winter, which neither HYBE nor SM Entertainment have commented on. This lack of clarity is fueling fan speculation and adding to what some are calling a “chaotic” transition period for the group.
Despite the turmoil, BTS is reportedly preparing for a full-group comeback album, scheduled for spring 2026, which would mark their first release as a seven-member team after enlisting.

It remains to be seen whether RM’s comments will elicit a response from HYBE. For now, his honesty has sparked concern and admiration among fans, many of whom echo his call for greater transparency and attention from the company that built the world’s most successful K-pop group.
