On December 2, BTS V posted a heartfelt message on his personal social media account. He began by reflecting on the passage of time, before revealing that his beloved pet dog Yeontan has passed away.
The full message posted by V is as follows:
“Hi ARMY (BTS fan),
Will you have a warm end of the year? Luckily the weather hasn’t been too cold yet.
It’s been a while since I greeted you with a song. Collaborating with my favorite Hyo-shin hyung and preparing an upcoming Christmas carol duet with the great Bing Crosby, who I deeply respect, has brought me so much joy. Before I knew it, it was already December again.
Actually, I wrote this post today because Yeontan (V’s pet dog) recently took a long trip to the stars. I thought a lot about how to share this news, but I felt it was right to let ARMYs know, who have shown so much love to Yeontan.
I hope ARMYs can think of him from time to time so that he can be happy in his new home among the stars.
Let’s make this year-end season a time to tell our loved ones how much we care.
I hope ARMYs stay healthy until we meet again!
I love you and thank you always.”
Fans, moved by V’s love for his pet, expressed their condolences by leaving comments like: “Yeontan must have gone to a better place,” AND “He was so loved by you, and I’m sure he was happy.”
Meanwhile, V enlisted in December last year and is currently serving with the 802nd Military Police Brigade’s Special Task Force. Fans continue to send him support as he goes through this emotional time during his military service.
