Netflix released the first official trailer on Monday for “BTS: The Return,” a feature-length documentary that follows all seven members of the South Korean supergroup as they reunite in Los Angeles to create their long-awaited comeback album “ARIRANG” after completing their mandatory military service.

The clip blends intimate studio footage with the members’ reflective voiceovers, showing them grappling with questions about identity, legacy and what it means to be BTS in a rapidly evolving music industry.

“In the military, time just passed,” RM says in the trailer, according to Rolling Stone. “But here in Los Angeles, you really feel the impermanence of time. And we’re trying to find out what makes us BTS.” Another emotional moment comes when Jimin declares, “We’re finally back to where we’re supposed to be,” as reported by Advertising billboard.

The members moved to Los Angeles in mid-2025 after all seven completed their military duties, with Suga being the last to finish in June 2025.

Second Rolling Stonethe group lived together for two months in a shared house, the first time in the same location since 2015, and worked six days a week with mornings dedicated to physical training and afternoons spent in the studio.
