Global K-pop sensation BTS connected with fans on Dec. 16 via a Weverse Live broadcast, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses as they prepare for a busy 2026.
All seven members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook appeared from the rehearsal room, sweaty from recent choreography sessions and joking freely, delighting fans.
During the broadcast, RM expressed, “It’s frustrating. We can’t reveal everything we’re preparing right now.” Suga added reassurances, specifying that announcements will come “in the near future”, hinting at upcoming returns and a world tour.
The members noted that 2025 seemed long, as RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook spent half the year fulfilling military service obligations, leaving limited opportunities for the entire group’s appearances. RM said: “We want to show everything quickly” while Jungkook and J-Hope admitted, “We are only about 10% prepared” highlighting their desire to reconnect with fans. The group also discussed holding additional year-end live sessions for fans.
Since Jin’s enlistment in December 2022, BTS members have sequentially fulfilled their military duties, creating nearly three years of hiatus for the entire group. After Suga’s resignation in June, the group began preparing for new releases and a comeback in spring 2026 accompanied by a large-scale world tour. The group has already shared photos of the rehearsal on social media, signaling the beginning of the pre-return momentum.
Even during the hiatus, BTS maintained global dominance. According to Spotify Wrapped 2025, BTS was the most listened to K-pop group globally this year, with Jungkook ranked as the only male soloist in the top 10, and other members such as Jimin and Jin also ranking high despite the entire group’s limited activity.
Beyond music, BTS continues to demonstrate a positive social influence. The group recently received the Presidential Commendation at the 5th Korea Good Donation Awards, recognizing their philanthropic efforts, including the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF since 2017. The award celebrates contributions that inspire hope and cultivate a culture of giving.
With their influence still strong, BTS’ plans for 2026 have fans and the music industry eagerly anticipating their next moves.
