BTS *really* led the way!
Among many global artists, the K-pop icon proved her worth after being named one of the biggest pop stars of the 21st century by Billboard.
On September 10 (local time), U.S. magazine Billboard updated its ranking of the “Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century”, placing BTS at number 19.
In particular, the industry’s standard record rankings have initially revealed their Honorable Mentions, and in the coming months, before the end of the year, they will reveal the editors’ top 25 picks.
In an article uploaded to its website, the global music chart praised the septet’s enormous contribution to the K-pop scene, which later spread to the pop music industry, thanks to their successes and fandom.
The K-pop boy group has broken barriers and become the definition of “pop stars” not only because they are a versatile seven-piece group, but also because they have created a fandom called ARMY, which embodies the love, connection, and positive message of BTS.
Billboard also hailed the septet as “the new model for all things pop,” praising their massive fan base and long list of hits. In fact, in US Billboard history, BTS has recorded six Hot 100 No. 1 hits and six 200 No. 1 albums.

As the magazine delved into the reasons why BTS was selected to make the “Greatest Pop Stars” list, Billboard added the group’s excellent vocal, visual, dancing, and performance skills as further reasons why they deserve the spot.
“Everything about BTS is produced with the highest quality,” highlighted billboard.
Finally, the article cites the seven-member team’s contribution in pioneering the global market, especially in the United States, with group hits such as “Dynamite” and “Butter,” not to mention the seven members’ solo careers that helped them expand their name as BTS, credited with their respective accolades.
Billboard finally stated:
“No K-pop group, or group in general, has achieved what Bangtan (BTS) has achieved in this century… BTS has truly paved the way.”
