A new trend of celebrity lookalike contests has emerged in the United States, starting with a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest in New York, where the actor himself appeared. Subsequently, other contests featuring other celebrities were held, including one for BTS’s Jungkook in Chicago on Nov. 24 at Ping Tom Park. The winner received a $20 cash prize and a bottle of soju.
The contest attracted a decent crowd as participants showed off their best Jungkook impressions. After narrowing down the contestants, Andrew Alexander, a college student from California, was declared the winner.
Andrew Alexander, YouTuber and content creator, impressed the judges with his detailed imitation of Jungkook’s piercings and tattoos. He flew in from California for the event and was helped by his sister Ashley, a fellow content creator, who shared a TikTok showing how she drew on Jungkook’s tattoos to enhance his likeness.
Although some X netizens questioned the similarity, others praised the event’s fun atmosphere, which was ultimately about having fun.
