Although many netizens praised J-Hope’s gesture towards fans, it sparked a heated debate on fan etiquette. In particular, netizens shared anger that fans were waiting in his hotel for a chance to get an interaction or signature when it was his private time, sharing that this was compromising his privacy and not respecting his personal space.
Would I like to have an album signed by Hobi? YES.
Would I compromise his privacy and crowd his hotel for this? NO. Never.
it’s basic etiquette…why do people keep doing this?!https://t.co/c572NMqwJr

Why am I seeing videos of 🐿️ signing autographs outside his hotel? US. DO. NOT. WAIT. OUTSIDE. THEY. HOTELS. It can’t be ARMY, because we have more respect for their personal space. Smdh.

If you see Hobi in videos just outside his hotel, going anywhere, to anything other than a public event, etc., DO NOT BOOST THOSE WHO POSTED THEM! These videos were shot by stalkers and paparazzi, and those people are not the ones we support, not now, not ever! pic.twitter.com/ZwYL5CAfaN

Please do not share videos, photos, etc. of Hobi. They were all filmed in front of his hotel. It’s invasive. And one of the people who clicked on his photos, Amar Taoualit, is extremely problematic.
Let’s wait for Hobi. He will update us as he does every time🙏

If you show up at Hobi’s hotel. You are a stalker/saesang. True, respectful, loving ARMYS will act like you don’t see them and run the other way. Give them space and privacy. 🤦🏻♀️
Some will never learn. Wait for Hobi to post on his social media.😐 pic.twitter.com/4XogFe0ubJ

We as a fandom didn’t agree to stop sharing sasaeng/paparazzi photos? So why is my tl flooded with photos of Hobi outside his hotel? Hobi always shares photos of the events he attends. Is it really that difficult to respect his privacy and just wait for his seat?

While idols are always eager to interact with fans, netizens think that there should be limits and privacy for idols, especially during private programs.
