BTS’ J-Hope has made a donation of 100 million won (about $68,000) to the families of the victims of the Jeju Air plane crash.

The contribution was delivered through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, of which the idol is a member.

“After hearing the news of the accident, I decided to make this donation to help the grieving families as much as possible,” J-Hope said in a statement Thursday.

“I offer my deepest condolences and comfort to the grieving families and all those affected by this tragedy. My heart goes out to those enduring this unimaginable pain.”

J-Hope completed his mandatory military service in October, after being drafted in April 2023 to complete his mandatory service.

The BTS lead dancer is expected to hold a solo concert to celebrate his return to the stage at Seoul’s KSPO Dome at the end of February.

BTS is expected to return in full force as a group in 2025, with J-Hope hinting that the group will return this year.

“When we all get back together as a group, it will have a huge impact,” J-Hope said in an interview with Weverse Magazine on Christmas Eve.

“I want to come back in style and say, ‘This is us; this is BTS. I can’t speak for everyone, but I can tell you that the other members feel the same way. What hasn’t changed is that I really, really like do it.”
