Blind Creator Breaks Down Over Hate Comments ‘I’ve Suffered For 7 Years’

On April 2, a video titled “Please Stop: Confronting Hate Commenters” was uploaded to Kim Hansol’s YouTube channel One Shot Hansol. In the video, Kim Hansol read hateful comments to her production team, saying, “I don’t even remember the last time I did that.”

Many of the comments accused him of faking his disability, such as: “Aren’t you just pretending to be visually impaired to get attention and make money?” and “This is a nationwide scam: You can see but act like you can’t.” In response, Kim Hansol expressed his frustration and sense of injustice.

She shared, “It’s been almost 7 years since I started this channel and I still get these comments,” revealing her ongoing pain. At the same time, he expressed gratitude to his subscribers, saying, “My viewers often defend me in the comments,” thanking fans who defended him.

When he read a particularly harsh comment – “If you are visually impaired, stay home” – he was momentarily speechless, pretending to wipe away his tears with a handkerchief. He added with a bitter smile, “Our channel actually doesn’t have many hate comments, but when you search for them, there are still a lot of them.”

Previously, Kim Hansol also suffered from the spread of false rumors. On March 13, he responded to claims circulating online that he had traveled to the United States to meet Elon Musk and had a brain chip implanted. He dismissed the rumour, saying: “I haven’t even packed my bags and my passport is still in the drawer.”

The speculation began after Kim Hansol revealed in February that he had applied for a clinical trial related to vision-restoring technology developed by Neuralink, a project that involves implanting a chip in the brain to link neural signals to computers.

After losing his sight in 2010 to a rare disease, Kim Hansol launched his YouTube channel in 2019 to share the real-life experiences of visually impaired people. Now, after seven years of creating content, he continues to raise awareness while at the same time enduring the harsh reality of online hate.
