He used it for his creative process.
BLACKPINK‘S Rose recently acted The Rainbow by Lee Youngji. He talked about the creative process for his next album. In particular, her recent release, “Number One Girl,” has been climbing the charts, gaining popularity for its raw and vulnerable lyrics.
He explained that he wanted to write a dramatic and extremely emotional song. He searched for malicious comments all night to write the song.
Maybe I was also in a hurry. I was working hard, but I felt like I had become a lazy person. I got into the bad habit of using the internet all night. The Internet knows no limits. I really wanted to say “oh, I’m a healthy person.” I read books at home”, but I end up using the phone until 5 in the morning and making things difficult for myself. I didn’t want to have to say “Oh, I’ve been looking for snide comments all night.’ So I thought to myself: ‘I want to write a really sickeningly honest song today,’ ‘It’s okay if it makes me uncomfortable, because I really want to write something extreme.’ That’s how I ended up writing “girl number one.” After writing the song, I felt so light. I felt like I put all my feelings into the song. Subsequently, I became addicted to that feeling and spent a year in the studio.
